So here I am… America. My first step into independence. How long I have waited for this, how much complications and doubts I had to struggle with. And now I’m here. I’ve been here a week now and I don’t think I realized yet that I’m here. Let’s begin with the week (4 Days) at the Au pair school. The flight is not important. I was excited, my luggage was way too heavy, me and my parents had to get along with an annoying, unfriendly airport employee (she was not unfriendly because she was german), I had to throw almost all my liquids away because my mom accidentally put them into my carry-on bag, my second flight had a 1h delay and 8hrs later we landed at the JFK airport in Long Island. bla bla luggage pick up here bla bla security check there bla bla a long ride to the au pair school bla. Alright then,
Even though the Buildings look majestic, they require a little renovation. The landscape was beautiful. Here is the view from outside the cafeteria where I had breakfast most of the time.
The 4 days consisted of two days of study in which the topic was infants most of the time. My roommates were also german boys. Overall we were 5 Boys and approx. 120 girls. The friendly police officer who came to the school and taught us something about safety and laws, called us "dirty dogs". He was really funny.
Next Stop: New York City
It was the first time for me and nearly every other Au pair to be in this huge, amazing city. It's a sensory overload packed with new images, impressions and sounds. Unlike them, I have the privilege to get there the whole year.
Toller Bericht :) Go Kil !!! ❤️
